Pinned: Kids Rooms

Kids rooms, for me, are one of the most interesting and challenging spaces to design. Challenging  because it has to be fun, alive, vibrant and at the same time, it should fit into the personality of the child. It's not like designing a regular grown-up bedroom where you just have the basic bed, night stand and desk. And then just add in an accent color to the neutral color scheme, and your good to go. Kids rooms have to be engaging, stimulating and at the same time, calming enough to make the kids relax when it's time to go to bed.

At the same time, I want to design a kids room, but not in the typical Pottery Barn kids rooms. Don't get me wrong, I love Pottery Barn. But sometimes, I just want to see something that's fresh and not overused. So, to gather up enough inspiration for my design of a kids rooms, I searched the net for these chic and stylish kids rooms that will make any grown-up want to be a kid again.

Shades of Gray

After meeting up with an old friend just a few weeks back, I had the chance to know more about what projects she's been busy with lately, being the in-house Interior Designer of Vista Land. Doris Dy has designed numerous model units for the company and she is just constantly busy with on-going model unit projects, more than your fingers and toes combined, can count. Yet, inspite of this woman's busy schedule, she took the time to show me one of the model units she recently finished for the Marfori Tower, one of the properties in the Lake Front Community by Vista Land.

On My Shelf : Elle Decoration Philippines

For this month's "On My Shelf", I am pleased to welcome the Elle Decoration's latest addition to it's worldwide network of home magazines - Elle Decoration Philippines! Published by Summit Publishing Inc., this is the 26th edition of the global brand, favored by over nine million readers worldwide, including myself. I personally am a fan of Elle Decor USA, especially because of the familiarity of the trade suppliers there and the designers. But EDP is just something I'm excited about, as I have been waiting for something like this to happen in the local scene. I am sure, now that we have the EDP, we will be seeing more ED worthy homes - and that means really chic and luxurious designs from the local front.

Concept 360 : UP Interior Design Exhibit

It's that time of the year again. And I'm not talking about Halloween yet! It's the season of Interior Design Exhibits. Every year, the different universities and colleges hold their annual Interior Design exhibits, showcasing the work of their students, usually the graduating class of the ID program. This year, the University of the Philippines Diliman's CHE Interior Design program launched an exhibit that shows the talented work of it's sophomore, junior and senior students. It's ongoing until the 24th of October at the Grand Atrium of the Shangri-la Plaza Mall.

We cordially invite you to CONCEPT 360: The University of the Philippines BS Interior Design Exhibit 2012. Concept 360 focuses on the relevance of interior design in the quality of day to day life and its powerful impact on the lives of the users.

The exhibit is a collaborative work that will showcase the skills and talents of the sophomore, junior and graduating students. It includes design innovations as applied in our advocacy project, The Pirouette Movement, where we are in the process of redesigning and renovating two cultural institutions.

When: October 16-24, 2012

Bo Concept's 60th Anniversary

Sixty years. Three generations of Danish design founded by two Danish craftsmen. Sixty years. A vision that started in a small furniture factory in Denmark to what is now a global retail furniture chain in more than fifty countries. Sixty years. And still counting.

On My Shelf : Kelly Hoppen Home

"When you create a home, you create one to live in now - not tomorrow, next month, next year, but now. There is no better time than today. My hope is that, with this book, you, too, can transform your house into a home that feels as perfect to you as Stone House did to me all those years ago."

Pinned : Bathrooms

For the month of September, Pinned is all about bathrooms. These are just some of my personal favorites, as seen in Pinterest.

from Elle Decor
I love the detail of the stainless steel counter legs.
It gives that much needed accent to an all white, pristine bathroom.
